Note:These pages make extensive use of the latest XHTML and CSS Standards. They ought to look great in any standards-compliant modern browser. Unfortunately, they will probably look horrible in older browsers, like Netscape 4.x and IE 4.x. Moreover, many posts use MathML, which is, currently only supported in Mozilla. My best suggestion (and you will thank me when surfing an ever-increasing number of sites on the web which have been crafted to use the new standards) is to upgrade to the latest version of your browser. If that's not possible, consider moving to the Standards-compliant and open-source Mozilla browser.

Back in Business

Sorry about that interruption in service. We seem to be back in business, but I fear we may have lost some of the more recent comments.

Re: Back in Business

Hurrah! And also, alas, I see what you mean…

Re: Back in Business

I had been looking at some cached pages this morning with several comments intact, but rather foolishly closed them, forgetting that Google would crawl about the net and update the cache.

Re: Back in Business

I have (from my browser cache) a version of the “Zorn Identity” post with 27 comments, four more than what’s currently showing; I can email it to you if you’d like? I can’t find your email address, but mine is of the form myfullname@gmail.com if you want to drop me a line.

Re: Back in Business

Most of the comments we lost were on my posts. The Café software emails us whenever someone leaves a comment, and I save these mails, so I was able to recreate the comments that had been deleted.

The only slight problem was that I didn’t have information on the threading, i.e. what was in reply to what. I made an educated guess. If you see anything badly wrong, please let me know. (But it’s quite a hassle to make changes, so I won’t bother with anything except serious mistakes.)

Thanks for the offer of the file, Peter, but I think we’re OK.
