Note:These pages make extensive use of the latest XHTML and CSS Standards. They ought to look great in any standards-compliant modern browser. Unfortunately, they will probably look horrible in older browsers, like Netscape 4.x and IE 4.x. Moreover, many posts use MathML, which is, currently only supported in Mozilla. My best suggestion (and you will thank me when surfing an ever-increasing number of sites on the web which have been crafted to use the new standards) is to upgrade to the latest version of your browser. If that's not possible, consider moving to the Standards-compliant and open-source Mozilla browser.

JHEP3

On a completely unrelated note, why is the JHEP3.cls class so broken?

(To amplify a bit, it seems to be incompatible with a number of standard LaTeX packages; some by happenstance, some because it clumsily – and unsuccessfully – tries to emulate them.)

Perhaps there will be a silver lining to the Springer purchase.

Re: JHEP3

Unfortunately the problems with the JHEP3.cls are because it is quite old and was written when some of the now “standard” packages were not so standard. We are well aware of the problems and are currently testing some new packages that should fix these problems and hopefully we will distribute them to the public before the end of the year.

All the best

Re: JHEP3

Yes, but which year?!

It seems to me that if you are aware, as you claim, of the shortcomings of the JHEP3 document class, you should have a more permissive policy on electronic submission.

I have tried submitting a paper from arXiv and it has failed to compile chez JHEP. I then spent some time converting my LateX source to JHEP3 only to be met with some errors coming from the ifpdf package which, I hasten to add, I do not call explicitly.

Deep sigh…
