Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Lisbon

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher position in the “Higher Structures and Applications” research team, funded by the Portuguese funding body FCT.

The Higher Structures and Applications project uses higher algebraic structures to obtain new results in topology, geometry and algebra, and to develop applications in related areas of physics and in topological quantum computation.

The current team members are:

Pedro Boavida, Joao Esteves, Bjorn Gohla, Joao Faria Martins (U. Leeds), John Huerta, Pedro Lopes, Marco Mackaay (U. Algarve), Aleksandar Mikovic (U. Lusofona), Roger Picken, Marko Stosic. (IST, Lisbon, unless specified otherwise.)

Further details:

  • location: Instituto Superior Tecnico, University of Lisbon.
  • duration: 2 years with a possible 6-month extension depending on funding.
  • annual gross salary: 29796,76 euros, with meal subsidy and social security benefits.
  • starting date: 1st July, 2019.

  1. A CV with the names of at least two people willing to write a recommendation.
  2. A research statement.
  3. Copies of their most relevant publications
  4. PhD diploma.
  5. PhD thesis.
