“…it won’t let me post hebrew comments”

Alas, no.

The native charset for this blog is ISO-8859-1 (Western Europeen), which means you’d need to enter the Hebrew letters as numeric entitites.

Moreover, my comment filters don’t currently allow the dir and xml:lang attributes. On an otherwise English-language page, you’d want to mark up Hebrew text as

<p dir="rtl" xml:lang="he">...</p>

And, to be really multi-lingual, I’d also have to allow the <bdo> element, which allows you to intersperse dir="rtl" and dir="ltr" text.

I could change my comment filters, but that would not get around the “numeric entity” problem, which — I think — makes allowing hebrew comments impractical.
